Murphy

Murphy began teaching in the 4th grade when he sat with his friend at the back of the class and helped him. Murphy has dedicated his life to helping students learn how to learn, because all students shine when they are given a chance.

Murphy has taught hundreds of high school students who thought they were “bad at math” that they can learn anything. Once they learned Murphy’s String Figures, they were propelled into the world as confident learners.

Murphy’s dream is that String Figures will become standard in primary school curriculum. If every student learns String Figures at an early age, he believes that middle and high schools will have no choice but to completely transform their programming to satisfy the academic interests, abilities and goals of so many powerful students.
